An Institution for the Advancement of the Left-hand Path

The Prometheus Society was originally founded under the name Satanic International Network in 1999. However, after much thought, it was concluded that the term "Satanic" did not appropriately represent all factions of the Left-hand Path and this term was unappreciated by some. Thus, the Black Circle, the leading council of the Prometheus Society, renamed it after the Greek Prometheus, he who gave man the gifts of intelligence, consciousness, and "fire". This organization is not a religion! This organization has been founded as an institution of the Left-hand Path to provide the following services:
1) Promotion of respect and honest presentation of the Left-hand Path by its many different practitioners, with all of their many differing perspectives.
2) The development of an archives for researchers of the Left-hand Path.
3) Education of the public about the Left-hand Path, its practices, and its philosophies.
4) Provision of legal and political defense and advocacy for all law-abiding practitioners of the Left-hand Path.
5) Assistance to law-enforcement organizations investigating so-called "occult crimes." In order to separate the criminal element from the general Left-hand Path philosophy/religion, we shall offer our assistance in such investigations in any way we can.
6) Promotion of Left-hand Path resources.
7) Publication of books, newsletters, journals, and other Left-hand Path media and literature.
